ROBERT KEITH is a veteran performer/director/producer with over thirty years of production experience under his belt. Robert was born in Fort Worth and is proud to call himself a native Texan, though he spent 28 years of his life living and performing in the slightly smaller state of California. The phrase “everything’s bigger in Texas” might also apply to Robert’s career, which has carried him and his company, Live Action Productions, from Paris, Texas to Paris, France, from India to Indiana, and everyplace in between.
Robert fell in love with performing on the rodeo circuit. Even in high school, he was considered one of the top riders in the state. From there, he began a relationship with one of the top amusement parks in the nation, Six Flags Over Texas, which would eventually span almost twenty-eight years. He became a stunt performer for the gunfighter show, and this introduced him to the second love of his life, stunts.
In the late seventies, while everyone else was riding the disco wave, Robert was working in feature film as an animal wrangler, and then he began taking acting lessons at the Beverly Hills Playhouse with noted acting coach, Milton Katselas. He came back to Texas for a short time in the early eighties to produce his own action show at the Big D Dallas Theme Park and then returned to Los Angeles to work as a stunt performer, actor, and print model. In fact, if it had anything to do with the L.A. entertainment industry, Robert had a hand in it. He became the Joker/M.C. for the Batman Stunt Show and was a top-rated performer for a nationally-recognized night club chain.
Robert continued to build his impressive resume in the nineties. He was the lead in the Dueling Pirates show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, directed the MGM Scream haunted houses, and was the Vice President of Production and Entertainment for the Dixie Stampede, a part of the Dollywood corporation. In L.A., he continued to perform in feature films (The Mask) and television shows (Beverly Hills 90210), then returned to Six Flags Over Texas to direct three different Batman stunt shows that wowed audiences for over ten years. When the Batman run was finished, Six Flags asked Robert to develop a show that would celebrate Texas pride. The result was Rangers and Outlaws, a Texas Ranger Wild West Adventure. Robert brought in Ron West, writer for the now-syndicated Drew Carey show, and together they created an old west stunt show unparalleled throughout the United States.
Robert brought much of his production knowledge to Six Flags, developing three new haunted houses in five years, while still directing and stunt coordinating other live action shows all over the world.
